Good News/Bad news

Well, I have good news and bad news.

I usually want to always hear the bad news first so....Brooklyn is home sick again. Her fever is 103. We were up with her at midnight and again at 4am. So far the fever is her only symptom. But that does mean canceling developmental therapy for the third week in a row! Grammy is home with her so she is in good hands. Another bummer is that I had an appointment with a reporter from our local paper that wanted to meet Brooklyn and take her picture for the paper. They were going to do a piece on October being Rett Syndrome Awareness month as well as highlight the upcoming Rett family "fall party" here locally on Sunday for all the Rett families in Michigan and Indiana. We might try again tomorrow....

Time for the good news, great news actually.
I got my reimbursement check from the hospital. I know all of you loyal readers remember my ranting. I jokingly said I might see the money in time for Christmas....we got it by Halloween! Yea!

Congrats on the money! I know how that goes. Sorry to hear about Brookie, though. Give her love from her friends in Lexington!

Feel better soon, Brooklyn! here is our yogurt smoothie recipe...
1 container of yobaby yogurt (I used the kind with the cereal in it...extra nutrition)

1/2 banana

and whole milk...I blended it all up and good to go!

Caitlyn can do thicker liquids like this from a regular cup, and she drank it right up! I use tricky ways to sneak in the milk...(oatmeal, extra in mac and cheese, smoothies)
We started using the Trader Joes brand yogurt because it is thicker (same fat content, but more calories) haven't tried smoothies with that one yet...But it stays on the spoon, so with a little hand-over-hand Caitlyn can do it!

Feel better soon!!

And yes...
I hope Brooklyn is feeling better. 103 huh? That's pretty high. Let us know if it continues.
