Rett Syndrome Conference....Chicago

Today I had lunch with Brooke's mom, Caitlyn' mom, and Edda's mom (otherwise know as Samantha, Rebecca, and Doris.) We are all here in Chicago for the Rett Syndrome Conference. I feel like I have know them forever. These three gals are three of the first moms that I connected with (via the blogging world.) It is because of these three ladies I was able to take it one day at a time when we first received our diagnosis. I check in on their girls daily (even when they do not update often....no pressure Samantha!) and they check in on Brooklyn. Hugging them was like hugging family, to meet them face to face is so wonderful! I have not managed to snap a picture of Erin yet but I got the chance to meet Riley and she is just as cute in person as she is on the blog! I loved that she let me scoop her up for a great big hug. It did make me wish that Brooklyn was here but I know I am able to learn tons and sleep more being here without her. (AND BOY AM I LEARNING!!) Thank you Riley for giving me my hug for the day!!!
I am having a great time and meeting so many amazing people here. It is so great to be around people that know EXACTLY what I am going through, thinking, feeling, wishing, etc. I am heading off to our evening social so I better run........

Kelly,
I am Charlie's cousin, Joy. (I am posting under my husband, Jake). I have met you once at your wedding! Charlie's mom (my Aunt Dana) told me all about Brooklyn. I have just found your blog, and I just wanted you to know how much it has touched me. I am so inspired by Brooklyn!! She is such an angel, truly!!

I am so proud of you and Charlie!! I want you to know I am committed to praying for all of you each day. In addition, I work at Mayo Clinic here in Rochester, MN. I have decided to make sure that every co-worker I have (a large group!) knows about Rett Syndrome!!! I would love to support you all in any way I can!!

Thank you for sharing your story and your life...I am so thankful for your opportunity to be in Chicago and connect with others who understand!!

I so wish I was there! Im sad that Im missing all the fun. There is always next year. :(

Im going to email Dr. Percy's nurse, Jane, and ask if it was Avery's picture on the slide show. Was it a picture of the 2 of them together?

Enjoy yourself! You deserve it!
