POTTY!!!

It is not everyday you see a picture of a toilet on someones blog! But today is a BIG day. Brooklyn went potty on the big girl potty at school and so I ran out and got her a princess seat for home and she has already gone once at home for me too!!
Miss Gillie promised her some Dora big girl panties if she went potty at school.....and she did! I guess she IS ready to start potty training! I will be sure to let you know how things go. I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone.
(If there are any Rett moms out there with tips on how to be successful at this I would LOVE to hear from you! For now, I am just putting her on every hour to try?)

We started with every hour and rewarded Andrew with candy. We have now moved to a time regulated schedule and can predict when he needs to go number 1 and 2. It makes life so much easier. We still have accidents and days where it just doesn't work but for the most part it does. Yea for Brooklyn!!

Yeah Brooklyn! We started off the same way and quickly learned what times were her typical #2 times. We still aren't brave enough for underwear, but typically can get her to the toilet at least for #2.

That's awesome! She must really like her some Dora! :) We used a seat very similar to that one for my son and also purchased the Cushie Seat from onesteapahead.com for traveling/going to the bathroom at other people's houses/restaurants,etc. Loved the way it folded up into a bag! Way to go Brooklyn!

We got Abby a pediatric commode. She gets on first thing in the am and goes 1 and 2. We put her on again for about 10 minutes before she goes to school. I put her on as soon as she gets home while I'm preparing her feed and I usually get a 1 and 2 then. Then again after she has eaten dinner or a snack.
She almost never poos in her pants unless we are in public and has only pood once at school in 3 years. Pee pee happens. I keep a picture of the potty handy so you can ask her.
Good luck!

Way to go Brooklyn....I knew you could do it...
You'll get to read their body language, a look on their face, a position of their bottoms,,,especially for number two.
Kelly goes first thing in the morning as soon she gets up is pee pee and sometimes after her bath #2.
Its an ongoing process with us but we never thought she'd ever do it so each time is a victory....YEAH BROOKLYN!!!
