Kalamazoo Roller Derby for Girl Power 2 Cure

Kristin went with me to the Roller Derby event last night. To be honest, I was not sure what to expect really but it was SO MUCH FUN!! The Killamazoo Derby Darlins are an amazing group of ladies!!One of the BEST parts of the night was meeting Suzanna Friedmann, a fellow Rett Mommy. She is amazing! It was fun spending the evening with her. Her daughter Kylie is one of our Girl Power members :)

It was a great bout - even better since Killamazoo WON!! YAY!

The team allowed us to set up an information table right inside the door to raise awareness about Rett Syndrome, they even made announcements throughout the evening about Rett!

It was standing room only - and the fantastic part is that Girl Power 2 Cure received $1.00 from each ticket that was sold. Rumor has it there were 600 people in attendance!! So cool!

So...there were lots of suggestions on what my "skater" name would be. The winner???? KiKi RettButt! (There was a gal whose name was KiKi your a**, so Ingrid made some edits for a fabulous name!) I want to thank Suzanna for arranging this Rollin For Rett bout in Kalamazoo and for her sisters (and mine!) who also joined us. It was a great night and of course I always love the opportunity to introduce complete strangers to Rett Syndrome!
