We are headed to Chicago today! This weekend is a busy one for Brooklyn. We start tomorrow morning with an appointment with Susan Norwell! She is going to meet with Brooklyn to do an Augmentative Communication evaluation for us. I can't wait! I have been wanting to get an appointment with her since I heard her speak at the Rett Syndrome conference last May. She works with lots of Rett girls and has had great success with helping them communicate. She is a HUGE advocate of "assuming competence" which is what my wish is for everyone that is involved in the lives of our Rett Syndrome Angels!
Then on Saturday we are off to Rush Hospital to meet with Brooklyn's Rett Specialists from Texas as part of the Natural History Study - sort of a "check up" to see how she is doing - I am SO excited to tell them she is doing GREAT off of her seizure meds - YAY!!!

Have a great trip! Thanks for sharing about Susan Norwell. I have never heard of her but would love to get an aptmt too. Can't wait to hear how Brooklyn does with her.

I hope Brooklyn gets an awesome report and i can't wait to hear about the aug com eval with Susan. She was an amazing speaker and i bet they'll communicate great with each other! Hope you're feeling better :) Have a good time and a safe trip!
