There has recently been a lot of talk among Rett Syndrome moms online about how tough it is when friends and even family start to distance themselves from you after the diagnosis of Rett Syndrome. It breaks my heart to hear a mom tell me that her own parents do not come around to see her daughter. That is an unbelievable pain, especially while dealing with the loss of "what should have been" with your daughter. An amazing fellow Rett Mom (Kim) posted this song on her blog and I thought many of us needed to hear this (and maybe even share it with our friends.)
I feel so blessed to be surrounded by my family who adores Brooklyn and most of my friends have remained there for me too, even if they are not quite sure what to do.
Lots of Love to all of you moms (and dads) who feel alone in this "Rett World" This life HAS chosen us - to love our girls and be loved by them!

Wow! Thanks for sharing. It made me cry, but that is okay. I felt blessed by friends this weekend when Martilee was in the hospital. So glad I am not alone, and pray for those who are.
This speaks straight from my heart (as i'm sure for many others). I boo hoo everytime i watch it. The My Tobii?? Another update that i forgot...i'll post soon but she's just now getting started with it. grrr LONG story.
