Early Intervention Program

Today Brooklyn met with her OT, Kris. They had so much fun playing with play dough: choosing colors, squeezing it tight, flattening out, rolling it into "cookies." All the fun stuff that Kris does that Brooklyn does not consider therapy but rather play time which is what makes it great.
Brooklyn will "age out" of the Early Intervention Program in less that a month which I hate. All of Brooklyn's therapists are so amazing and have done so much for our family. Saying goodbye to these fabulous women in a couple weeks will NOT be easy.
I am currently working with our insurance company to keep at least PT and Speech therapy going this summer. It looks like it will work as long as we use therapists that are "in network" and limit it to 90 visits per calendar year - they cover all but the $30 co-pay per session. Then of course there is the fact that we have to prove that she is gaining skills each month or they stop paying.
We still have not heard back from the school to schedule her testing either. It has to be completed before her third birthday so we are under a month on that one too. I will be sure to let you know the results of that.
What other updates.....
STILL waiting on the wheelchair - insurance says we are a go. National Seating has not returned my past two phone calls but the last actual conversation I had with them was to try to connect them with my insurance company who has already given the ok to cover the chair 100%. I am not really sure what the hang up is. I am thinking that if I continue to call everyday, something will be resolved soon. I have to admit that there is a part of me that is glad the wheel chair is not here. If it is not here then I do not have to look at it or think about Brooklyn needing a wheelchair. You know what I mean.......
