"Da Da" has to be the single most beautiful word a child can utter to their father. Whether it is their first word or only word. Brooklyn said "Da Da" today and has uttered it a few times actually over the last week. I know most moms would prefer to hear momma and believe me as a mom I would LOVE it more than anything in this world but as a Rett mom "Da Da" is music to my ears too. As I sit hear hoping that one day I will hear "momma" again I smile, filled with joy, at the precious sound of her little voice saying "Da Da."

Hi, you don't know me; I am a friend of Kimberly's and found your blog through hers. I have been following it for a little while. I just wanted to tell you how beautiful your daughter is and how much I admire you for your strength and perseverance. You have such a wonderful gift within your daughter and she is SO lucky to be given parents like you...You have no idea how much of a wonderful impact you are making on her and every other girl with Rett's. It's comforting to know that are such "talented" parents out there... I know you don't know me, but I think of you often. :)
I told your mommy that you'd just bust out talking one day. I guess those of us who trusted you with juicy gossip better beware. In a little while, you may rat us out!
I'm so proud of you Brooklyn. i'm also glad we actually got to hear you say it!
Brooklyn, that is amazing! I know your voice is music to your parents ears.
Yea!!
That is fantastic! I know you both are so proud of her. You just might her Momma yet.
Margie and George
That is such good news! I can't wait to hear it! Maybe you could try catch it on tape and post a video for all of us out here far far away :( to hear! We love you Brooklyn!
